Agnes Lanfranco
Bio
I was born in Buenos Aires, 1961.
As a child I was madly attracted to pictures in magazines, National Geographic, my first love.
I started my photographic lessons at Andy Goldstein´s school, where I entered for the first time to a dark room and got trapped in the magic.
Studied theatre scenography with Tito Egurza and Guillermo de la Torre.
Later I studied film and television at CIC, and Fine Art photography in Diego Ortiz Mugica´s School. I took seminars with Bruce Barbaum and John Sexton in USA.
My ehibitions were at El Ñirantal, Casa Matienzo, the Lucy Mattos Museum, BA Photo.
I am part of Taquicardia, where we constantly seek meaning to photography language and its beauty and explore ways to connect to our inner worlds.
Developing and copying my negatives still thrills me as the first day. Printing my digitals in larger scales gives me joy. Slowing speed in craft work gives me peace.
Statement
I am inspired by Nature in all its forms and manifestations,
She wakes up my infinite abstractions
I turn on, I regain faith, I find life.
I portray Nature because its beauty fills me with love, and I try to share that unique and unrepeatable moment of feeling connected to the deepest.
I return to Her like a spring in the desert, to calm my deepest thirsts.
