Lola García Berro
Bio
Bio entonces queda así Lola Garcia Berro, born in Buenos Aires in 1973. I graduated at UBA as a lawyer in 1996. I started my studies in photography in 2003 while living in the United States. In 2009, back in Buenos Aires, I deepened my fine art studies with Diego Ortiz Mugica. Additionally, I took courses with the renowned American photographers Bruce Baurbaum and John Sexton. I exhibited in various important individual and collective shows such as BA Photo (2014, 2017, 2020 and 2022), Lucy Mattos Museum (2013), Sívori Museum (2012), and Central Society of Architects (2015), among others. I worked as a notary public for more than 15 years while photography and meditation became an important part of my life. Today, that is what I do. I became an analogue photography teacher and meditation facilitator. Likewise, together with my fellow photographers Agnes Lanfranco and Felicitas Bonino, we created a textile design brand “Taquicardia Design”, through which we bring our photographic images to design objects with the artisan technique of screen printing.
Statement
I find in photography the expression of my continuous internal search. I use my images to explore the present moment, the essence, the minimalism and the immensity of the human experience. I percieve the solid and perpetual consciousness that lies deep within.
