Annemarie Heinrich
Bio
She was born in Darmstadt, Germany, in 1912. In 1926 she settled in Argentina. A self-taught photographer, she opened her first studio in 1930. For forty years, she illustrated the covers of the magazines Antena and Radiolandia, and became the favourite portraitist of the great stars of show business. At the same time, she experimented with the photographic image and pioneered the work of photography as art. In 1938 she presented her first solo exhibition and since then held numerous exhibitions at national and international venues. She was a founding member of the Foto Club Argentino, of the Consejo Argentino de Fotografía, and a board member of the Asociación de Fotógrafos Profesionales. Between 1952 and 1959 she was a member of La Carpeta de los Diez. Her works are part of numerous museum collections around the world.
