Statement

My EXHIBITION PROPOSAL is composed of DIFFERENT BODIES of the same work that complete its inspiring concept, as it is “DAMERO” exposed next to this work.
“FRAGMENTED WOMAN”
Fragmented Woman, sculptural installation that starts from a painting of mine in acrylic pigment on canvas, showing a female face. I photograph the painting, geometrize it in 16 squares and take it to print complete on white polymer plate of 1.60mt x 1.60mt. The polymer plate is divided and cut into 16 squares of 40cmx 40cm each. Each square in turn carries a diagonal cut.
I recompose and assemble the initial image of the woman´s face, joining and ringing each cut with spirals. Once the assembled work is ready, I adapt its assembly to the exhibition space. Its ductility in shape and movement by the cuts and spirals that compose it, allows its assembly in endless ways. Crawling on the floor, climbing a wall or columns, floating in space, etc. Its visibility as a three-dimensional body changes according to the point of view and movement of the viewer.
The CONCEPT of the work alludes to the multiple roles assigned as “SEX WORK” imposed on women, as humorously recorded questionnaires of the past.
