Masako Kano
Bio
Masako Kano is a poet and photographer. She was born into a traditional Japanese family, after finishing her degree she left her country to complete her Master of Arts in NY. In 1988 she moved to London where she began studying contemporary photography at Christie's. In 2000, she moved with her family to Argentina. She continued her photography studies with Diego Ortíz Mugica and professor Piroska Csúri. She also produced a documentary “Voces de América Latina” and “El Silencio del Impenetrable”, a documentary about El Impenetrable National Park in Chaco, Argentina, awarded and selected at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival in NY. She has been an active member of the board of the Association of Friends of Villa Ocampo, a UNESCO cultural heritage site, where she was president in 2015-2017.
Statement
La serie "Caminos al infinito" es simplemente un pequeño intento de transmitir cómo podría sentirse el humano contemporáneo frente a la incertidumbre de su próxima reencarnación, pero que sigue su camino. También incluí la serie "Tao" influenciada por los poemas y las pinturas de las apreciaciones de las criaturas vivas vistas en el Taoísmo.
Aprendí desde la infancia de ver a los animales e insectos como reflejos de nosotros mismos, como almas humanas previas reencarnadas en estos cuerpos. .... ¿Cómo podemos seguir dañando nuestra planeta con nuestra basura, quemando y matando si nos convertiremos en una parte de ella en la próxima vida?
